Apple Inc. bought the worldwide rights to Carpool Karaoke in 2016 and it became Carpool Karaoke: The Series. Its an American web television series that premiered on Apple Music on August 9, 2017. Based on the popular recurring segment from The Late Late Show with James Corden, the series pairs various celebrities with each other as they drive around together and sing-along to popular music.

On February 15, 2018, it was announced that the series had been renewed for a second season.

EP and show runner Eric Pankowski will join the festival to tell how the show is developed, what they learned in the process and how you make a comedy success.

"Carpool is probably the most viral 'comedy piece' that a talk show / TV show has ever delivered.

It started in The Late Late Show - I actually saw the premiere show, at a hotel in New York - it is broadcasted on TV somewhere between 00:30 - 0130 in USA. Not even in primetime, yet Carpool is one of the most seen ever!

It is very interesting that an idea that was thought of as a specific content element for The Late Late Show is now sold as an independent program for Apple.

In the United States, it is the producer who owns the content and therefore they can use it as they wish. It can be a huge business model and it is interesting to see with Danish glasses as well. 

It will also be exciting to hear how they took the idea and developed it with Apple to make Carpool an Apple thing.
