Brutal liquidations, shootings, revenge ... Gangs, rockers and gangsters fills a lot in the news. But how do you as a documentarist go behind the phenomenon - and quite close to the people who press the trigger? Is it possible to find the logic that drives gangmembers to put their life and well-being at risk for honor and their gang? And what else do the viewers get from getting completely under the skin of the criminal lifestyle?

The English / Dutch documentarists Mags Gavan and Joost van der Valks are behind several major documentaries about gangs, for an example about Crips - and most recently - about the biker group Satudarah. As viewers, we are involved in punishment inside the gang, fights with rival gangs and negotiation about takeovers of brothels.

English Paul Blake has with his new series Gangland taken a step further. After several of his potential starring gangsters were killed or put in prison, he decided not to take part in the filming himself, but to give go-pros to gang members who filmed themselves. That way, they were relieved of the suspicion of being "stingers". But is that the right way to get closer to the truth?

The moderator is Thomas Heurlin, who for decades has made television with some of the country's most feared gangs.
