As interest in television formats continues to rise globally, it’s important for Scandinavian producers to learn how to navigate the opportunities for their ideas. Allison Wallach, a New York-based agent with United Talent Agency, will talk about the vital role an agent plays in selling ideas and building producer relationships with buyers in the United States. Wallach, who represents numerous producers in the United States, as well as several European producers, explains what is needed to sell ideas, what the deals are likely to involve and what the potentially lucrative opportunities are in the U.S. for European producers and their formats. In an interview with Thomas Heurlin, and through concrete examples Wallach discusses the opportunities and pitfalls for European producers in the U.S. and when it might be best to license their format to American producers. She will also identify buyers who are likely accessible to European producers and will provide intelligence on what kinds of ideas they are currently looking to commission.
This is an indispensable session for all Scandinavian producers who are interested in the U.S. television market from one of America's most dynamic and insightful packaging agents. Wallach’s client companies include Think Factory, Love Productions, Jupiter Entertainment, Relativity, Go Go Lucky, Clear Story, Jarrett Creative, among others.
